What is CBD?

Cannabidial (CBD) is a chemical compound, or cannabinoid, found in the industrial hemp plant. Unlike its well known sister cannabinoid, THC, it is non-psychoactive, meaning it will not get you "high."

How Does it Work?
Stimulates our Endocannabinoid System (ECS) - CBD binds with cannabinoid receptors found throughout our body in the ECS. This system plays an important role in neuroprotection, stress recovery, immune balance, and homeostatic regulation (maintaining a stable internal environment). When CBD binds with these receptors, a mechanism is triggered in the ECS to produce a therapeutic and healing response.

Helps to Regulate Key Body Functions - Thus far, CBD is known to directly or indirectly affect three other receptors (Vanilloid, Adenosine, Seratonin) that are important for pain modulation, the sleep-wake cycle, and mood and stress management. It has also been linked to a spike in the naturally occurring "bliss molecule," anandamide, which helps to regulate functions like pleasure, appetite, memory, sleep, and pain.

What is it Used to Treat?
CBD can be beneficial for a variety of medical conditions. Here are a few common reasons people use it:
Anxiety
Chronic Pain/Soreness
Skin Irritation
Arthritis
Insomnia

Sprains/Strains
